About me

The girl herself

Hello! If you’re interested in reading about life in Australia, the thoughts of a travelling London girl now living in Melbourne, you’re in the right place. I will add updates at least every fortnight so return when you can to read my new posts.

Í have arranged this site to focus on my key interests: ‘Travelogue‘, ‘Creating the Working Life you Love‘ and ‘Non profit Sector‘.

Visit ‘Travelogue‘ for news on my recent travels for work, study and pleasure internationally and around Australia.

Í have worked working in the non-profit sector for the past 15 years so visit ‘Non profit Sector‘ for updates.

If you are interested in developing your career, particularly if you are considering the non-profit or community sector, read ‘Creating the working life you love’ where I add posts on personal development and realising your potential. I give seminars on unleashing your potential and will be holding a number this year so look out for dates and locations.

Please consider providing your comments and subscribing if this site interests you.

About me. I’ve lived in Melbourne for over 23 years and from here have travelled all over the world – for work and pleasure. I’m married to a Breton man and live in a tiny house near the water which I love.

I am Executive Director of Zoos Victoria Foundation, a role I was delighted to take up in January 2010 after working in the non-profit sector with Plan International, Oxfam Australia and Bush Heritage Australia.

Australia has been very good to me and for me! Since moving here from England I found my passion for raising awareness and funds for some of the world’s poorest children as well as the most vulnerable and threatened animal species. This led to me being recognised in 2006 as a Telstra Businesswoman of the Year for Community and Government in Victoria as well as receiving the AGSM Alumni community scholarship to attend the prestigious Australian Graduate School of Management.

Prior to this I worked for over 15 years in the international advertising sector with Leo Burnett, Lintas and Ogilvy & Mather Direct in account service in London and in Melbourne. Advertising and marketing are my first loves and I still work in marketing and now fundraising roles in the non-profit sector.

I am a keen photographer, part time student and full time social entrepreneur always looking for new ways to help build long term financial sustainability for non-profit organisations. I am a regular public speaker for universities, other non-profits and corporations.

I hold strong views on some things in particular the need for action to halt the sad decline in the numbers and habitat of our beautiful animals and plants and our need to protect the planet.

I’d love to hear your comments and thoughts.

Welcome to Pamela Sutton-Legaud’s blog.
