I am CEO of the Small Business Mentoring Service, a non-profit organisation providing dedicated volunteer mentors for small business owners.
Previously, I was CEO of Homeward Bound, a leadership initiative for women in STEMM and a local councillor with Hobsons Bay City Council. I advised non-profit organisations as a Strategic Fundraising Consultant working with AskRIGHT.com and continue this work as an independent consultant. Prior to this, I was Executive Director of Zoos Victoria Foundation, a role I was delighted to take up in January 2010 after working in the non-profit sector with Plan International, Oxfam Australia and Bush Heritage Australia.
Australia has been very good to me and for me! Since moving here from England I found my passion for raising awareness and funds for some of the world’s poorest children as well as the most vulnerable and threatened animal species. This led to me being recognised in 2006 as a Telstra Businesswoman of the Year for Community and Government in Victoria as well as receiving the AGSM Alumni community scholarship to attend the prestigious Australian Graduate School of Management.
I worked for over 15 years in the international advertising sector with Leo Burnett, Lintas and Ogilvy & Mather Direct in account service in London and in Melbourne. Advertising and direct marketing are my first loves and I still enjoy providing advice on marketing and fundraising and strategic planning to the non-profit sector.
I am a keen photographer and am always looking for new ways to help build long term financial sustainability for non-profit organisations. I am a regular public speaker for universities, other non-profits and corporations. Connect with me on LinkedIn.
